Parker Produce in the Community

At Parker Produce, we believe in strong, local communities and we know that our community is only as strong as those citizens who need the most help.  That's why we work to help those who need a hand.  We also participate in other aspects of the community in an effort to make it as strong as possible.

In 2008, Parker Produce donated part of our harvest to The Shaw House.  The Shaw House is a Bangor shelter for homeless children age 10-17.  For more information about the Shaw House and its programs to help children, please contact them using the information below.

In 2008, Parker Produce also donated part of our harvest to the Maine People's Alliance annual Rising Tide Dinner.  This is an event that honors a small handful of people who have really made a difference and actually made positive changes in Maine and the entire world.  Parker Produce congratulates this year's winners, including our newest speaker of the Maine House of Representatives, Hannah Pingree, and thanks MPA for all it's hard work on the issues affecting Mainers.

Ryan Parker (founder of Parker Produce) also participates in several aspects of community life, particularly in the dissemination of information through the airwaves.  Our family are members of the Maine Public Broadcasting Network and WERU Community Radio.  Ryan is a volunteer reporter for WERU and a member of the Community Advisory Board for MPBN.
