Farm Links

The following links lead to sites of companies with which we are involved, such as our seed companies and organizations to which we belong.  You will also find additional links to sites that we feel are important for one reason or another.  Enjoy.

Burgess Tree Farm

Home of Parker Produce.  Though a small amount of our produce is grown in Winterport, the vast majority comes from our headquarters in Newport.  Operated as a family-owned dairy farm for decades, it now thrives as home to acres of cut-your-own Christmas Trees.

We purchase Fedco seeds because of their practices, philosophy, quality, and the fact that they are local.  Even if you don't garden, you may enjoy reading their seed catalog.

We purchase seeds from Baker Creek because of their commitment to the diversity of our food supply.  Heirloom varieties have been around forever, are the best tasting and are not genetically modified or produced in a lab.  They are passed from season to season by Nature herself.

We purchase seeds and tools from Johnny's because they are a Maine company and have a department devoted to helping create garden tools envisioned by people like Eliot Coleman, another Maine gardener.

Alternative Energy

Evolo Home Center and Evolo Energy Solutions is a small business in Newport which works to provide alternative energy solutions with the use of wind and solar technologies.

MOFGA

The Maine Organic Farmer's and Gardener's Association is a great resource for farmers in Maine, including Parker Produce.  They are doing some great work to promote the growth of the local aspect of agricultural marketing.  If you've never been to the Common Ground Fair, you're missing a unique experience.
